Flex 1.0 was code named ‘Royale’ I can’t remember the code names for the others - if I remember I’ll leave them in a comment :)

If you want a bit of potted history regarding the Flex Builder IDE’s there were originally going to be two for Royale. Brady - which was the one that was based on Dreamweaver MX2004 (and subsequently released); the other was code named Partridge and was based eclipse, but for reason that were never made public it never saw the light of day.

It is mentioned in this Macromedia press release circa 2003 (http://www.adobe.com/macromedia/proom/pr/2003/introducing_flex.html - seventh paragraph).

Just ran into this page while I was trying to answer some codename history questions for someone else :)

One minor correction: “Zorn” was actually the codename for Flex Builder 2. Flex 2’s codename was “Mistral”. (We didn’t combine the codenames for Flex and Flex Builder until Flex 3 with “Moxie”.)
