Flash Platform: Flex,AIR,Flash and Web Technologies under one roof

Posted on | November 17, 2008 |

Adobe MAX update, as we can feel the huge presence of Flash player across all platforms and devices. We can easily say, Flash Is Now A Platform. And to make this trend more strong in future Adobe has planned to put all Flash related technologies under one umbrella FLASH PLATFORM. As per Adobe, Flash Platform is an integrated set of technologies surrounded by an established ecosystem of support programs, business partners, and enthusiastic user communities.

According to TechCrunch, “Realizing that Flash is a better name than Flex for a platform, Adobe is now referring to everything it does related to Flash (including the Flash Player, Adobe AIR, Flex developer tools, and Flash media servers) as the Flash Platform. That’s what I’ve been calling it anyway, so I’m glad they finally caught up.”

See what all included in FLASH PLATFORM & Web Technologies.

So now we are ONE in all forms. :)

This is a good book for those coming in from JavaScript/HTML and moving to AIR

You don’t have to use Flash to build Adobe AIR applications. You can build full-featured applications using just HTML and JavaScript. This usually surprises some developers who expect Adobe AIR to focus only on Flash.
