Adobe AIR on Mobiles (Andrioid based devices)
Posted on | February 18, 2010 | No Comments
Last week Adobe announced support of Adobe AIR (desktop runitime environment for Adobe Flex) on Andriod based mobile sets. It has created a huge buzz around the developer community.
This is fantastic news for Flash Platform developers who can now build applications that not only run across different desktop operating systems but can now also be deployed to Android devices. It’s obvious that AIR for Android takes full advantage of the improvements and new features we added to Flash Player 10.1. Those include multi-touch, gesture inputs, accelerometer input, GPS and screen rotation.
Various sources predict Google is selling 60.000 Android devices every day. According to MobileCrunch, that works out to about 5.4 million handsets per quarter, or 21.9 million per year. And the rate is growing rapidly, according to Eric Schmidt who kicked off the Mobile World Live Keynote initiative this week.
Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt talked about why this is important in his Mobile World Live Keynote while Eric Tseng (Senior Product Manager for Android) demoed Flash Player 10.1 and AIR on a Nexus One. He actually summed it up very nicely by saying: “The line is blurring between mobile phones and desktop computing… One of our main goals when we embarked on smartphones at Google was to really mirror the desktop web browsing experience – but for many of you and you know who you are – there’s been a critical component missing – Flash!“.

I now be pronounced as Adobe Certified Flex 3 and AIR Expert
Posted on | October 10, 2009 | 9 Comments
I passed the ACE “Adobe Certified Expert” Flex 3 with AIR exam today. I did it in mere 12 minutes but they were one of the toughest 12 minutes of life
I will share my experience in detail in my later post.

Passing score: 67%
My score: 81%
The test was tough, but the feeling is same as the Flex 2 ACE exam I passed last year in April.
I’m very excited as now I am done with it!
Thank you Adobe, and the entire Adobe Community for supporting me.
